The sizes

Mini, small, medium: what they actually mean

The whole price of tattoo removal turns on the size of the design. Here is what each tier means, with the per-session price and, from the small tier up, the four-session package.

  • A very small tattoo on the inner wrist, barely bigger than a coin.MiniAbout a coin$100per sessionNo package
  • A credit-card-sized tattoo in the middle of the forearm.SmallAbout a credit card$150per session4 sessions · $499
  • A floral tattoo covering the top of a forearm, elbow to wrist, on one side of the arm only.MediumAbout a forearm$300per session4 sessions · $949
  • A large floral tattoo across a woman’s shoulder blade and upper back, seen from behind.LargeAbout a partial back$550per session4 sessions · $1,699
  • A tattoo covering the upper half of a back, the arms and lower back left bare.Extra largeAbout half a back, or one side of a sleeve$700per session4 sessions · $2,099

The examples give the order of magnitude, not a definition: what counts is the area of the design, not where it sits on the body. On an arm or a leg we count one side, not the way around the limb: a tattoo that wraps all the way around counts double. Your tier is confirmed at the assessment, before we start. Taxes extra.

One area apart

Brows have their own page

Microblading and permanent makeup are not tattoos: the pigment is different, so is the number of sessions, and the price does not follow the size grid. It all lives on its own page.

Clover prices, taxes extra. The consultation is $50, paid on site, credited to your plan if you go ahead with us.

The progression

A medium tattoo, session after session

Most tattoos need 8 to 10 sessions, sometimes more. The laser breaks up the ink, your body clears it between visits, and the design fades in layers, more and more slowly. Light shading, on the other hand, can go in 1 to 4 sessions.

  1. Sharp black bird tattoo on a forearm, before removal beginsBefore session 1The ink is dense and the outlines are sharp.
  2. The same tattoo turned grey, outlines softened, but still perfectly legibleAfter 2 or 3 sessionsThe black turns grey and the solid fills go porous. The design still reads in full.
  3. The same tattoo reduced to a bluish shadow on the forearm, still visible up closeAfter 5 or 6 sessionsThe design no longer reads from a distance, but a bluish veil stays under the skin. This is where it slows down.
  4. Forearm with clear skin, no trace of the removed tattooAfter 8 to 10 sessionsThe skin is clear, sometimes after more than ten sessions: that is the end of the road, not session three.
Why 4 for one person and 15 for another
The ink colourBlack and dark inks go first. Green, blue and yellow hang on and need more passes, even with the colour handpiece.
Professional or amateurA studio tattoo lays down dense ink, deep in the skin: it takes more sessions than an amateur one, lighter and shallower.
Shading or solid fillsLight shading often goes in 1 to 4 sessions: little ink, laid down shallow. A saturated black fill, driven deep by an experienced artist, takes the top of the range.
Where it sits on the bodyWhere blood flows well, like the chest or upper body, the ink clears faster. On fingers, feet and ankles it is slower.

An illustration, not a patient photograph, and the pace shown is that of a professional black tattoo. Count on 8 to 10 sessions, sometimes more depending on the ink and how deep it sits. A trace can remain: nobody can guarantee you blank skin. We estimate it at the assessment and tell you plainly where you stand at every visit.

Packages · 4 sessions

Four sessions, one price

A tattoo does not leave in one session: the ink breaks up a little more each pass, and the body clears it between visits. The package follows that reality, and costs less than four sessions paid one at a time.

  • The price follows the tattoo size
  • Every ink colour, from black to yellow
  • Medical assessment before starting

Each package shows its per-session rate and what it saves against the à la carte price. Most tattoos need 8 to 10 sessions in total, sometimes more: the package covers four, and we tell you at the assessment how many to plan for yours.

Who it’s for

Is it the right choice for you?

An honest gauge before going further. We always confirm together at consultation.

Tattoo removal makes sense if…
  • Ink that no longer feels like you, black or coloured: we have the handpiece for yellow, green and blue
  • You accept several spaced-out sessions: the tattoo fades gradually
  • You want a medical setting and skin monitoring
  • You’re planning a cover-up and want to lighten the old tattoo
Let’s talk first if…
  • White and pastel inks: they respond poorly everywhere, and can even darken. We tell you beforehand
  • A recent tan on the area
  • A known history of poor healing or broken skin over the tattoo
  • You expect full removal in one session: that isn’t realistic

Our results

Cases treated here, by our team.

A woman’s shoulder blade: a black-ink sun tattoo, then the same sun clearly paler and thinner after two sessions.
Base of a woman’s neck and shoulder: a large black-ink rose tattoo, then scattered grey traces of the outline after six sessions.
A woman’s upper arm: a black-ink cherub tattoo, then the cherub faded to a pale outline; the untreated snake next to it stays dark.
Back of a woman’s arm: a small fine-line flower, then a few barely visible traces in the same spot.
Forearm: the word “Indestructible” in thick black lettering, then the same word turned light grey; the neighbouring colour sleeve is untreated.
Back of a woman’s arm: the time “16:54” tattooed in black numerals, then a very pale grey trace, photographed from slightly further away.
Back of the hand: a black and orange face tattoo covering the hand, then a few residual grey outlines.
Inner arm: an airplane tattoo with a black outline and yellow, orange and red fill, then a few black dots and a pale yellow patch that remain.
Side of a woman’s foot: a name in black cursive, then a few grey traces along the line, foot photographed the other way round.
A woman’s thigh: a black-ink sugar skull with roses, then almost even skin with a faint haze of grey dots.
Back of a woman’s arm: a large black-ink anchor with rope, then the same area with no visible trace in the photo.
A woman’s arm: a black leopard pattern from shoulder to elbow, then a few bluish spots left on the upper arm.
A woman’s ribs: five names in grey cursive, then the same area with no visible trace; another tattoo higher up is untreated.

No result is guaranteed. These before-and-after photos show real cases treated at the clinic. They are in no way a guarantee: every person responds differently to the same treatment.Every tattoo differs: the ink, its depth and its colour change the number of sessions. Plan on 8 to 10 sessions in general, sometimes more. At the assessment we tell you what is realistic for your tattoo.

FAQ

Before your first visit

The sensation feels like small elastic bands snapping against the skin. Cooling or a numbing cream can be applied to improve your comfort, and the procedure is done under medical supervision after an evaluation.

Most often 8 to 10 sessions, sometimes more, every 6 to 8 weeks. It depends on the ink, how deep it sits, the colour and the age of the tattoo; light shading can go in 1 to 4. We give you an estimate at the assessment, and no complete removal is guaranteed.

Sessions are generally spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart to let the skin heal and the body clear the fragmented ink. This interval protects the skin and supports a better outcome.

The area may be red, swollen or form scabs for a few days up to one or two weeks. Keep the skin clean and protected, and avoid picking to reduce risk to healing.

Black and dark shades respond best, and that is true everywhere. Colours depend on the device: a single wavelength cannot see them all. We have the dedicated colour-ink handpiece: we treat black, grey, red, orange, yellow, green and blue, several of which many clinics cannot take on. It still takes longer than black, and we give you a realistic picture at the assessment.

The skin must not be tanned at the time of treatment. Avoid tanning and direct sun exposure for about 2 to 4 weeks before and after each session, and apply SPF 30 or higher on the area.

Common effects include temporary redness, swelling, blistering or scabbing, and sometimes a passing lightening or darkening of the skin. These reactions are explained in detail before starting.

The treatment is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with an active infection on the area, certain skin conditions, or recently tanned skin. The prior medical evaluation confirms whether removal is right for you.

The laser targets the ink while sparing the surrounding skin, which limits the risk, but a risk exists, especially if the area is picked during healing. Following the recommended aftercare helps protect your skin.

Keep the area clean, apply the recommended ointment, do not pick the scabs, and protect it from the sun every day. Tattoo removal starts at $100, taxes extra, depending on size and complexity, confirmed at your consultation.
