The technology

PRF

Your blood, spun without anticoagulant. Nothing foreign goes in.

We draw your blood, and the tube goes into the centrifuge at low speed, with no anticoagulant. That detail changes everything: instead of a liquid that releases its growth factors all at once, you get a fibrin matrix, a natural mesh that lets them out gradually over days. That slow release is what the thin skin around the eye responds to.

  • Your own blood, nothing added
  • No anticoagulant, unlike PRP
  • A slow release, over several days
  • Placed by our nurse

Under the eye, the three possible routes.

A hollow under-eye can be treated several ways, and none suits everyone. Here is where PRF sits, and when another option is the better one.

We look at your under-eye at the consultation before choosing: a hollow, thin skin, pigment or a bony shadow are not treated the same way, and sometimes the right answer is none of the three. Results vary from one person to another.

What to expect

Recovery, day by day

An honest overview. Every skin heals at its own pace.
  1. 1

    Same day

The area swells, a bit like after a short night, and the eyes may look heavier than before. That is normal and it does not last.

  2. 2

    Days 1 to 3

The swelling goes down. If there is a bruise, this is when it shows most: concealer covers it.

  3. 3

    Days 4 to 7

Everything has settled. At this point there is still nothing to see: the work is happening underneath.

  4. 4

    6 to 12 weeks

The skin thickens little by little and the hollow softens. This is when to compare with the baseline photo.

Who it’s for

Is it the right choice for you?

An honest gauge before going further. We always confirm together at consultation.

PRF for under-eye circles makes sense if…
  • Your circle is a hollow or thinned skin, and it shows most under overhead light
  • You do not want filler under the eye, or you have had a bad experience with it
  • A series of 2 to 3 sessions and a gradual result suit you
  • You accept that a bruise is possible and that timing matters
Let’s talk first if…
  • Your circle is mainly a brown patch: that is pigment, and PRF does nothing for it
  • The shadow comes from bone structure or a fat pad: that is another conversation
  • A clotting disorder or blood thinners
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding: we postpone as a precaution
Evaluation with complimentary 3D skin analysis. No obligation.
FAQ

Before your first visit

We draw your blood, like at a lab. The tube is spun at low speed with no anticoagulant, and out comes a platelet-rich fibrin matrix. Our nurse injects it under the eye during the same visit. Nothing foreign goes in: it all comes from you.

PRP is a liquid that releases its growth factors all at once. PRF is prepared without anticoagulant and keeps its fibrin mesh, which lets them out gradually over several days. For the very thin skin around the eye, that slow release is what we want.

No, and that is on purpose. PRF does not fill a hollow: it thickens the skin and improves its quality, which softens the circle instead of masking it. If your hollow is deep and you want an immediate result, we will say so, and a filler may be the better answer.

It depends what makes them dark. If it is thinned skin letting the vessels show through, PRF helps. If it is brown pigment, no: no injection treats pigment, and we look at skincare and sun protection instead. We tell the difference at the consultation.

We plan a series of 2 to 3 sessions, 4 to 6 weeks apart. The result builds over 6 to 12 weeks, because that is how long your skin takes to make collagen. We take a baseline photo: without it, there is nothing to judge against.

The blood draw is the one you already know. For the injection we apply numbing cream and work with a cannula or a very fine needle. The area is sensitive, we will not pretend otherwise, but it is very manageable.

Yes. The area swells a little the same day and settles over two to three days. A bruise is possible: if you have an event, leave at least a week before it. That is the only real scheduling constraint.

It is not a product that dissolves, it is your own skin that has changed. Depending on the person, age and lifestyle, we generally talk about a year or more before considering an upkeep session. Results vary from one person to another.

Our nurse, always. This is an injection in one of the most delicate areas of the face: it is not an esthetic act and it is not delegated.

PRF is not an approved product: it is your own blood, prepared and injected back during the same visit. Health Canada treats this as falling under the practice of medicine, governed by Quebec’s professional orders, rather than as the sale of a drug. We would rather say so plainly than imply otherwise.
