A More Defined Jawline Without Surgery: How Many ml, and Why Not Just One

Why one ml cannot draw a jawline, what changes the volume, and what the $550 per ml price covers, taxes extra.

One ml cannot draw a jawline. At the clinic, we recommend 2 ml on each side, so 4 ml. Treatment starts from $1,100 (1 ml per side), at $550 per millilitre, taxes extra. The final volume is decided by the physician at the mandatory medical consultation; the injection is then done by a nurse.

Want to know how much it takes before you book? It is the right question to ask first. Here is what we can tell you up front, and what we cannot tell you without looking at your face.

Why one ml is not enough

The jaw is a long line, running from the chin to the angle under the ear, on both sides. One ml spread over that distance leaves almost nothing at each point: the line is not drawn, it is barely hinted at.

That is why we never show the price of a single ml for the jawline: the starting price covers 2 ml, one on each side. Some people stop there, and that is their choice; we simply tell you what we recommend.

A price per ml only means something if you are first told how many ml the line takes.

What the price covers

The price is per millilitre: $550 per ml, taxes extra. We bill what is injected. The total therefore depends on the volume chosen, and for an injection, we tell you the amount before we start.

The recommendation of 2 ml on each side is not a strict minimum: it is the volume with which the line takes shape best in most cases. Some people prefer to start with 1 ml per side. Beyond that, the physician decides at the consultation.

What changes the volume

No published source sets a single volume for the jawline. Approaches and faces differ too much. What we look at is your anatomy:

  • The chin. A receding chin changes how the jaw reads in profile.
  • The angle of the jaw. That is where the line is marked, or not.
  • Asymmetry. One side needing more than the other is common, and we do not force them to match.
  • The skin. Skin that holds well or has loosened does not respond the same way.
  • The product. Fillers do not all have the same consistency.

Jawline alone, or jawline and chin

The chin and the jaw are looked at together, because the eye reads a single line. A 2025 case series in Cureus (ten people, one centre) treated the chin and jawline in one approach.

That said, it is a small sample, and one coauthor is a supplier consultant. We use it to say the two areas go together, not to set a volume.

What you see after the injection

Some swelling and a few bruises are possible. In the same case series, mild swelling and bruising appeared in two people out of ten and resolved within 72 hours. That is an observation from a small group: yours may differ.

Aftercare instructions are given at the clinic, based on your case. Anything touching your health (medications, history, pregnancy) is checked at the assessment, as the American Academy of Dermatology also advises before any filler.

What filler does not do

Filler redraws the line by adding support. It does not replace a facelift, and it does not tighten loose skin. If that is your case, other options exist: we cover them in tighten or fill.

What we tell you up front

  • The final volume is decided by the physician, at the mandatory medical consultation.
  • The injection is done by a nurse.
  • Results vary from person to person, and we promise no duration.
  • A touch-up can be discussed afterward, if it is useful.

Questions we get asked

How many ml for the jawline?

At the clinic, we recommend 2 ml on each side, and treatment starts from $1,100, which is 1 ml per side. The final volume is decided by the physician at the consultation, based on your chin, your jaw angle and your skin. No published source imposes a single figure.

Is 1 ml enough?

No, not to draw the line from one side to the other. That is why we do not show the price of a single ml: the starting price, $1,100, covers 1 ml per side.

How much does it cost?

Treatment starts from $1,100 (2 ml), at $550 per millilitre, taxes extra. The total depends on the volume chosen, and we tell you before we start.

How long does the swelling last?

In a 2025 case series, mild swelling and bruising resolved within 72 hours in two people out of ten. That small sample cannot be generalized: aftercare instructions are given to you at the clinic.

Who does the injection?

A nurse. Injectables are placed by a nurse, never by an aesthetician.
