You are considering exosomes for denser hair, and one question keeps coming up: is it really safe?
The concern is legitimate. It is a technology presented as new, even though it is not that new: exosomes have been studied since the 2000s, and Korean aesthetic medicine was among the first to use them.

The exosomes used in clinics contain no DNA. They are exosomal structures of plant origin, with no genetic information that could interfere with your body.
They contain no living cells, which rules out immune rejection. Your immune system has no foreign body to fight.
Derived from plant stem cells and made in a laboratory under strict conditions, they are free of residual proteins and transmembrane receptors, which explains their hypoallergenic character.
The literature on plant-derived exosomes describes a favourable safety profile: good biocompatibility, low immunogenicity, and no warning signal to date.
What you should also know: exosomes are not approved by Health Canada for hair regrowth, even though their use is common in clinics. And it is a recent approach: long-term hindsight does not exist yet. We would rather tell you here than let you find out elsewhere.
When there are any, they are mild and brief:

It is not that one is safe and the other is not: both have a good profile. What changes is which risks each one removes.
No blood draw. So no venipuncture, no possible vasovagal reaction, and one step fewer.
Consistent quality. Exosomes do not depend on how you are doing that day: the concentration of growth factors is the same session to session. PRP depends on your blood, and therefore on your habits.
A lighter procedure. Placement is done by microneedling or a very fine needle, and you leave right away.
In exchange, PRP has one advantage: it comes from you, and it has been documented far longer.
Exosomes are cellular messengers your body already produces constantly. We are not teaching it anything new: we amplify a language it knows, with a purified product rather than a biological tissue.

A transplant remains the right answer when there are genuinely bare areas. That is not a safety question, it is an indication question.

No, and the reason is structural: these are plant-derived structures, not living cells. Cancer arises from mutations in the DNA of dividing cells. These exosomes contain neither a cell capable of dividing nor DNA capable of mutating. They do not have the machinery for it.
The risk is very low: these exosomes are free of the residual proteins that usually trigger a reaction, and they are produced under controlled conditions. As always, we will ask about your allergy history before starting.
