Dermapen DP4

Getting the active where a cream never reaches.

A medical pen that opens fine vertical channels in the skin, at a depth set to a tenth of a millimetre. Two effects at once: the skin repairs itself, so it builds collagen, and the active we choose finally reaches the dermis instead of sitting on the surface.

The mechanism

How the Dermapen DP4 works

The principle is called collagen induction. We deliberately create micro-injuries fine enough to close quickly, but clean enough for the skin to trigger its repair cascade. What separates a medical pen from a needle roller: the needles go in and out vertically, at constant speed and depth, instead of tearing the skin at an angle.

  1. 1

    We set the depth

Skin around the eye is not as thick as the cheek, and an acne scar is not worked like a dull complexion. Depth is changed during the session, area by area.

  2. 2

    We open the micro-channels

The pen passes over the area in several directions. Each pass leaves thousands of vertical channels that will close within hours.

  3. 3

We apply the active during the window

The channels stay open only briefly: that is the window during which an active actually reaches the dermis. That is when we apply the boost chosen with you, exosomes, PDRN or another.

  4. 4

    The skin rebuilds

Redness for a day or two, then repair carries on underneath for weeks. Texture refines and dents fill in session after session, not overnight.

Plainly put

What the Dermapen DP4 does not do

  • It does not firm clearly lax skin. Microneedling alone works on texture and density, not the jawline: for that, we talk radiofrequency.
  • It does not treat active breakouts. We do not perforate inflamed skin: we calm it first, then rework texture.
  • It does not erase a scar. It softens it, often clearly, over a series of sessions. A deep fibrous scar needs more, and we say so up front.
  • It is not comparable to a needle roller bought online. Same family of idea, but with no controlled depth and no sterile cartridge, the risk of marking the skin is real.
Frequently asked

Dermapen DP4, the questions we get

Geometry and sterility. The pen punctures vertically, at constant depth and speed, with a sterile cartridge discarded after you. A roller enters and exits at an angle: it tears the skin somewhat rather than perforating it cleanly, and its depth cannot be set. That is the difference between a controlled procedure and a gamble.

We apply a numbing cream beforehand, which makes the session quite tolerable. The sensation is a rough vibration; the forehead and nose are felt more than the cheeks. You have nothing to endure in silence: we adjust.

One to two days as a rule, like a light sunburn, sometimes with a tight feeling. Some people are presentable the next day, others prefer to plan a quiet evening. We tell you what to expect beforehand, not after.

Three to six sessions four to six weeks apart for a real change in texture, then maintenance. An acne scar needs more than a dull complexion. The exact count is set at the evaluation, looking at your skin.

Microneedling alone already restarts collagen. The boost uses the window while the channels are open to place an active into the dermis: exosomes for repair, PDRN for regeneration, hyaluronic acid for hydration. We choose it with you based on what your skin needs, and each boost has its own page.

Yes, and that is one of its advantages. Microneedling uses neither light nor heat, so it does not target melanin: the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is far lower than with an ablative laser. We stay cautious with keloid-prone skin and discuss it beforehand.

Keep the skin clean and moisturised, drop acids and retinol for a few days, avoid intense exercise and saunas on day one, and wear sunscreen. Nothing complicated, but those few days count toward the result.

The right technology is the one that suits your skin.

We look at your skin, tell you what will work and what will not, then choose together. No pressure.
