Exosomes, PRP and Laser: Should You Combine Them for Hair?

Yes, pairing exosomes, PRP and the LaseMD Ultra laser can revive density. Here is what each tool brings and how we build the right mix for you.

Yes, exosomes, PRP and laser can be combined, and it is often the best idea. Here that combination has a name: Ultra Exo, pairing the LaseMD Ultra laser with exosomes. The goal is not to stack treatments, but to have each one work where it is strongest.

Why combine

Every hair treatment has its own mechanism. Combining them intelligently lets you:

  • Attack the loss from several angles rather than one
  • Match your profile, which is not your neighbour's
  • Move faster, because the effects add up
  • Treat the terrain as much as the sign

Exosomes, whose whole job is carrying a message to the cell, combine well with almost anything. The question is with what.

Exosomes and PRP: the most frequent combination

What each brings

PRP and exosomes share the same logic, restarting regeneration, but they get there differently.

PRP comes from you: we concentrate your own platelets and place them back. Quality therefore depends on your blood, and your blood depends on your habits.

Exosomes come from cell cultures prepared in a laboratory. The concentration is the same from one session to the next, whatever shape you are in. Honest note: they are not approved by Health Canada for hair regrowth, even though their use is common in clinics.

How we combine them

In sequence. The full protocol first, with exosomes added to the PRP sessions, then maintenance on PRP alone. That is exactly how DC Bloom Exo and DC Prime Exo are built.

As a complement. Exosomes on the most affected areas, PRP across the whole scalp. Targeted and general at the same time.

Your profile decides: your age, your general health, the stage of the loss and what you are after.

Exosomes and laser: the no-needle route

The LaseMD Ultra

The LaseMD Ultra is a non-ablative laser: it creates micro-channels in the skin without burning it. Those channels are the way in for whatever active is applied immediately after.

What the combination changes:

  • The exosomes get in instead of staying on the surface
  • There is no injection at all, so nothing to dread on the needle side
  • The session is short: a few minutes of laser, then the application

How it goes:

  • The laser pass, opening the micro-channels
  • The exosome application, entering through those channels

That is what we call Ultra Exo, and it is the option for anyone who does not want a needle.

And LED light therapy?

We get asked often enough that it deserves a straight answer: we do not offer LED light therapy at the clinic.

The principle exists, red and infrared light are studied for follicular stimulation, and you will find it elsewhere. But we are not going to sell you a treatment we do not have, or pretend it is part of our protocols. If we add it one day, we will write it here.

Exosomes and microneedling

The principle

Microneedling also creates micro-channels, mechanically this time. It adds a stimulation the laser does not: the controlled micro-injury triggers a repair response.

What it brings:

  • Mechanical stimulation of the follicle, on top of the chemical signal
  • Deep penetration of the growth factors
  • A healing response working in your favour

How it goes:

  • Preparation: cleaning and disinfection
  • Microneedling: controlled passes
  • The exosome application, travelling down the channels
  • Recovery: a soothing serum and protection

On the face, that combination has its own page: microneedling with exosomes.

Who benefits from which combination

Exosomes and PRP: if you are in good general health, like the idea of the treatment coming partly from you, and are aiming at long-term maintenance.

Exosomes and laser: if needles put you off, if the loss is diffuse and early, and you want the most comfortable session possible.

Exosomes alone: if PRP is contraindicated, or you do not want a blood draw. That is DC-Exo.

How we decide

At the assessment, we look at your hair history, the current state of the scalp, what you are aiming for, your budget, and what you are willing to do. The combination comes out of that, not out of a catalogue.

What you will see, and when

The markers below describe a typical progression, not a promise.

Months 1 and 2: shedding slows, existing hair improves, the scalp is better supplied with blood.

Months 3 and 4: the first signs of regrowth, fine hair thickening, density creeping up.

Months 6 to 9: visible, measurable regrowth, better overall density, a result that settles.

From 12 months: the result is mature and holds with maintenance.

What speeds it up, what slows it down

It helps: finishing the protocol, good habits, no major stress, and above all starting early.

It slows things: an uncorrected hormonal imbalance, chronic stress, smoking, and a protocol abandoned halfway.

The questions we get

Do the treatments cancel each other out?

No. They act through different, complementary mechanisms: one opens the way, one carries the message, one tends the terrain.

Are there contraindications specific to combinations?

They are the same as for the treatments taken separately: pregnancy and breastfeeding, active autoimmune disease, an active skin infection, anticoagulants for anything going through a needle. The nurse goes through them with you.

Can everything be combined at once?

No, and we will not offer it. A considered combination beats an accumulation: the goal is the result, not the number of treatments on the invoice.

Does it cost more?

Combined programs cost less than the same sessions paid one at a time. Prices are posted on every program page, taxes extra.

How long between two treatments?

It depends on the combination: four to six weeks minimum between two PRP-with-exosome sessions, while laser and exosomes happen in the same session.

Can I stop partway?

Yes. None of these treatments creates dependency: if you stop, you simply return to the natural course. You adjust based on your response and your means.

Where this is heading

Hair medicine is moving toward increasingly integrated protocols: markers for finer personalization, new molecules to combine with exosomes, less invasive techniques at equal effectiveness.

We follow them without announcing them early. A research avenue is not a treatment, and you will read it here the day it becomes one.

Your path

The assessment first

We analyse your situation, discuss what you are after, propose the combination that makes sense, and plan it. If no combination makes sense in your case, we will tell you that too.

The follow-up after

Advice before starting, follow-up during the protocol, regular assessment, and adjustments when your response calls for them.

To finish

Exosomes are not an isolated miracle. They are a tool that gives their best when well accompanied: by PRP for maintenance, by laser for comfort, or by microneedling for stimulation.

What matters is that the combination fits your profile, not that it is the longest one.
